Bio-Oil contains a spcecial ingredient called PurCellin Oil™ and this makes the whole formulation light and non-greasy. This also ensures that the precious plant extracts and vitamins are absorbed into the skin.

What are the ingredients in Bio-Oil?

      • Liquid Paraffin
      • Triisononanoin
      • Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate

      • Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil
      • BHT
      • Bisabolol
      • Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract (Calendula Oil)

      • Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Oil (Rosemary Oil)
      • Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil (Chamomile Oil)
      • Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A)

What are the uses for Bio-Oil?

  • Scars: It can be used to improve the appearance of the scars but it can never remove them.
  • Stretch marks: It can be used to improve the appearance of the stretch marks but it can never remove them.
  • Uneven skin tone: It helps improve the appearance of uneven skin tone.
  • Aging skin: It helps to make the skin softer, smoother and more supple and so reduces the appearance of wrinkles.
  • Dehydrated skin: It supplements the skin’s natural oil layer and helps to restore the skin’s barrier function of retaining moisture.

How to use?

For scars:

  • It should be massaged in a circular motion into the scar, twice daily, for a minimum of 3 months.
  • It should be applied only once the wound has healed and not into broken skin.

For stretch marks:

  • It should be massaged in a circular motion into the scar, twice daily, for a minimum of 3 months.
  • To prevent stretch marks during pregnancy, it it should be applied from the start of the second trimester to areas that are prone to stretch marks such as the abdomen, breasts, lower back, hips, buttocks and thighs.

For uneven skin tone:

  • It be applied to the affected areas, twice daily, for a minimum of 3 months.
  • When applying sunblock, apply Bio-Oil and allow it to dry first before apply the sunblock.

For aging skin:

  • It should be applied to affected area twice daily.

For dehydrated skin:

  • It should be applied to the skin twice daily.

Previously, it was not available in Singapore, only in Malaysia. Soon it will be available in Unity pharmacies.

From my limited information gathered, it should be selling at $15.50 for a bottle of 60ml.

This bottle can be used for half a year or more if you are just applying to small scars.
