Pain in the ear might be caused by many aspects, including bacteria, damage, fluid buildup, built up pus, infection in the surface ear (swimmer’s ear) or be associated with can range f or sinus an infection or a tooth difficulty. - Instill 2-3 drops of garlic oil in affected ear. Make sure that the eardrum is not punctured.
- Combine the tree tea oil with neem oil (diluted in sesame oil). Apply a few drops of the oil mixture to the ear passage, only if there is no perforation or discharge.
- Put a pinch of asafetida in cotton, and roll it into a capsule like shape. Place that ball of cotton into the outer ear. The fumes of the asafetida will quickly relieve ear pain.
- Sleep with the head raised on several pillows to reduce pressure in the middle ear.
- If the earache is due to a cold, try using decongestant to help clear nasal passage.
- Wear earplugs while swimming.
- Avoid dairy products.
- Avoid excessive use of antibiotics.
- Avoid hair dyes and styling products.
- Don’t swim in polluted or dirty water.
- If your ear drum bursts, there may be a discharge. Keep the ear dry and arrange to see doctor.
- Have severe earache, or develop a fever.
- Symptoms become more severe or do not subside within 24 hours of treatment.
